Stuart Anderson

Stuart Anderson brings more than two decades in law and business to the Foundation's mission. He began his career as a litigator, representing businesses and individuals in real estate, construction, professional liability, and complex civil matters, then co-founded a law and business practice handling business and real estate disputes, corporate formation, and governance. He later served as a vice president with a private investment company, leading strategic planning, partnership development, and the negotiation of financing and commercial agreements, and spent more than a decade as an independent consultant advising businesses on contracts, governance, and risk. He holds a Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from San Diego State University.

His perspective on reform is not academic. Stuart served time in federal custody following a white-collar conviction — an experience that showed him from the inside how the system reaches into a person's livelihood, family, and future. He used it to take responsibility and rebuild, completing a year-long cognitive behavioral program and turning to reflection, writing, and faith. He has now seen the law from both the practice and the receiving end, and he brings both to the Foundation's work.

Stuart is also the author of the upcoming memoir Everything Under the Sun, an account of accountability, consequence, and renewal drawn from that experience. He has taught kung fu and tai chi for more than sixteen years — a practice grounded in discipline, humility, and resilience that runs through the rest of his life and work.
